What do you do when the guest star of an average theatre group
on tour suddenlydies during rehearsal?
Simple: Stuff him and use a remote control!
The theatre goup experiences at first hand what´s possible with today´s technology. In a net of endless accidents, coincidences, confusion and deathly attacks, the rehearsals for a musical develop into roller coaster ride of catastrophes, where (almost) no-one seems to survive and (almost) no eye stays dry.
Everything begins totally harmless. To save the theatre ensemble from bankruptcy, the agent hires an American musical star. He appears- albeit in company of his nurse.
Gordon Mitchell, around 80, in the meantime forced into in a wheelchair!
It´s no wonder that the excitement of the theatre ensemble is dampened considerably. An aging ex-star as “the star” of their group- not a good omen. Nevertheless, the rehearsals begin, the first tour dates are booked, and the music transports all into ecstasy. Until Gordon´s wheelchair goes crazy and sends Gordon into theatre heaven.
What now? The agent has the saving idea:
Stuff Gordon and remote- control him on stage.
A run-down but genius "preparator" wth experience in cybernetics and animation begins his job.
It seems to work! Gordon´s back in full force and better than all. All functions perfecly until more mysterious deaths occur. Jealousy, love, hate, vanity, cover-ups and mix-ups drive the director slowly towards insanity and the actors, one after the other, into remote-controlled immortality.
Even outside the theatre-world trouble seems endless. An unsuspecting driver mistakenly exchanges boxes, meant to go for stuffing of the corpses. At a press conference, suspicious journalists, skeptical police officers and remote-controlled actors of the ensemble create total havoc. Nevertheless, the musical premiere is full success and the “undead” ensemble goes on Tour...
