Lying at the pool all day long while drinking cocktails and giving
autographs.
A dream.
Most people only dream of that.
Others try to make their dream come true.
By being a singer, an actor, an athlete or whatever.
They work hard on themselves.
They fight. They make sacrifices. They are strict towards themselves
and towards others.
They are admired for their energy and courage.
But the world is not fair and success can't be forced.
But they would never give up.
Like skipjacks they rise and fall again.
Like a bug climbing up a wall only to fall down again.
Quickly, passion turns into obsession.
Soon it becomes unimportant how to achieve the goal and earn the
succes.
You start to intrigue, to lie, to cheat, but also to whine and
crush everybody standing in the way.
If you can't walk the straight way you have to use the other way.
Finally you earn the desired success but the person who could
have enjoyed it does not exist any longer.

The actor Matthias Horbelt
Used to work as a joiner and has been the singer of a punk -
rock band for several years. ( single "angst vor morgen"
torso 1993 )
in 1993 he decided to become an actor.
He learned his skills at the hochschule für musik und theater
in rostock near the baltic sea, where he had also his first works
at the local theatre - volkstheater.
The following years he spend working at various theatres all over
germany, e.g. at the städtebundtheatre hof, landesbühne
hannovre, schauspielhaus kiel, schloßtheatre celle or theatrehouse
cologne. There he played parts like othello ("othello"),
cheech ( "bullets over broadway" ),
ronnie worthington ( "außer kontrolle - out of order"
)
thomas diafoirus ( "der eingebildete kranke" - "
the imaginary invalid")
sa - mann / ss - mann ( "furcht und elend des dritten reiches"
- "the privat life of the master race" )
or mr don parlando ( from shakespeares "ende gut - alles
gut" - all well that ends well )
besides he could be seen in quite a lot of movie an tv productions
in germany and partly in europe like

In his spare-time he likes doing taekwondo and other fighting sports, he likes running and biking, he likes breaking his bones at snowbording and skating…and still he likes singing and making music - although certainly not being the new mr caruso;-)
